These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Sous Chef mobile application and website ("Service") operated by Sous Chef ("us", "we", or "our").

By accessing and using our Service, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provision of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this service.

Description of Service

Sous Chef is a pantry tracking application that helps you:

Organize and track pantry items and inventory
Create and manage homes with multiple family members
Generate and share shopping lists
Scan barcodes for easy item entry
Share data across family members through secure invitations

User Accounts and Responsibilities

Account Creation

You must provide accurate and complete information
You are responsible for maintaining account security
One person may create multiple homes but should manage them responsibly

Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

Upload false, inaccurate, or misleading information
Impersonate another person or entity
Interfere with or disrupt the Service
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose

Family Sharing and Invitations

Only invite people you know and trust to your homes
You are responsible for managing family member access
Shared shopping lists and items are visible to all home members
You can remove family members and revoke access at any time

Data and Content

Your Content

You retain ownership of your pantry data and shopping lists
You grant us permission to store and process your data to provide the Service
You are responsible for backing up important data

Barcode and Product Data

Product information may come from third-party databases
We are not responsible for the accuracy of product information
You should verify product details independently

Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but cannot guarantee 100% uptime
We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects service availability
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with notice

Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it through the app settings. We may terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted according to our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties
We are not liable for food safety decisions based on app data
Users should use their judgment regarding food freshness and safety
We are not responsible for disputes between family members

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Sous Chef be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the Service.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
